June 2023: Year-End Notice

Hello Families,

As the school year draws to a close, please take note of some important information below.

We hope you and your family have a fun and relaxing summer. We look forward to welcoming students back on Thursday, September 7th!

Important Dates

The HRCE calendar for the 2023-2024 school year can be found here.

• Friday, June 30th: Last Day of School (Dismissal will begin at 9:55 am. Bus students will be dropped off four hours earlier than the usual time. There is no Excel.)

• July 1st to August 31st: Late Registration online (see www.hrce.ca/registration)

• Friday, September 1st: Organization Day - No School for Students

• Monday, September 4th: Labour Day - No School

• Tuesday, September 5th: PD Day - No School for Students

• Wednesday, September 6th: PD Day - No School for Students

• Thursday, September 7th: First Day of School for Students

Report Cards

Term 3 report cards will be sent home electronically on Friday morning to the same email address where this notice was sent. No paper copies will be sent home.

As a reminder, the password is your child’s date of birth, including dashes, in the format YYYY-MM-DD. For example, for the date of July 15, 2012 the password is 2012-07-15.

Farewell & Best Wishes

We’d like to wish our grade six students all the best as they move onto Gaetz Brook Junior High in the fall. Best of luck - you will all be missed!

With the end of the school year comes some changes to our staff at O’Connell Drive. We’d like to wish the following term staff members well in their future pursuits, be it here at O’Connell or elsewhere.

Supply Lists

Student Medications

If your child takes medication here at the school, parents/guardians are asked to come to pick this up from the main office before Friday at 10:00 am. Thank you!
