Remembrance Day

poppies

Every year on November 11, we observe Remembrance Day to commemorate the sacrifices of the armed forces during World War I, World War II, and other conflicts. This solemn day is marked by ceremonies, moments of silence, and the wearing of poppies in honour of those who have served and fallen. Together, these days remind us of the courage and resilience of all who have served. There is no school on Remembrance Day.

School Remembrance Assembly Thursday November 7th:

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion will be our honoured guests.

  • We invite students who are current members of service organizations (Guiding/Scouting/Cadets, etc) to wear their uniform on this day and to be part of the procession with the colours (flags).
  • Members of Coastline Singers are reminded to wear their red choir t-shirts.

During the laying of the wreaths, we share a slide show of family members who have served. We will be adding to the slide show from previous years.

  • You are invited to send in photos of family members who have served (if you have not already done so in previous years). Please send those photos to Mrs. MacKay at amackay@gnspes.ca by November 6th.
